Multi-Value Cascading Parameters Don't Update Correctly in Sharepoint Integrated Reporting Services

Buzz It
Problem :
Multi-Value Cascading Parameters Don't Update Correctly in Sharepoint Integrated Reporting Services

Description :
We have Reporting Services running in Sharepoint Integrated mode. We have a report which uses cascading parameters, as follows:

Parameter 1: a multi-value drop down
Parameter 2: a multi-value drop down which is dependent on the choices in Parameter 1.

When you chose a value for Parameter 1, the page reloads, but the drop down list for Parameter 2 does not update.

A crude workaround is to get the user to click "Apply" which causes the report to be generated based on the (possibly invalid) values selected for Parameter 2. This then causes Parameter 2 to be updated based on the choices of Parameter 1.

With serveral cascading parameters this results in a fairly nasty user experience, but it does at least work.

Solution :
This Problem is resolved in update 3 of SQL Server 2005 SP2 [Check this: https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=281612].

As of my knowledge we are on 9.00.3042 build. This is SQL Server 2005 SP2.
This cumulative update would take us to 9.00.3186 [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939537].

I suggest you to install the latest service pack of RS2005. This is SP3: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ae7387c3-348c-4faa-8ae5-949fdfbe59c4&displaylang=en [Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3]
